Enrolment Agreement

1) INTERPRETATION
    “I Can Read Hong Kong E-learning Centre” means any legal entity which runs programmes, workshops and seminars under the “I Can Read” brand name or ICR Limited.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

2) FEES
  1. a. Course Fees and any applicable Material Fees must be paid prior to the start of the first lesson. Subsequent Course Fees and Material Fees must be paid on or before the last paid lesson. The Centre reserves the right to stop a student from attending lessons if these fees are not paid by the due date.
  2. b. Course Fees and Material Fees paid are non-refundable. Specifically, any unutilised paid Materials Fees and Course Fees due to Withdrawal from enrolment will not be refunded.
  3. c. All monies paid to the Centre cannot be transferred to another student unless otherwise stated.
  4. d. All Fees amounts are subject to revision with at least one month’s advance notice by the Centre.

3) ABSENCE
  1. a. There are no replacement lessons for any missed lessons. Alternatively, a link will be shared to the Student to watch the lesson recording of the missed lessons.
  2. b. No cash credit or refunded will be offered for absence.

4) TRANSFERS
  1. a. If a Student wishes to transfer from 1 Centre to another, a Transfer Request must be made by completing the Centre’s Transfer Application Form.
  2. b. While the Centre will endeavour to comply with the Transfer Request, there may be times where the desired Centre cannot fulfil the request due to scheduling or other operational reasons. The Centre is not liable for any loss or damage caused arising from the failure to comply with the Transfer Request.
  3. c. Course Fees and Material Fees paid may be transferred to another Centre in the event your child transfers to another Centre.

5) WITHDRAWALS
  1. a. If a Student wishes to terminate his/her enrolment in the Centre, a Withdrawal Application must be made by completing and submitting the Withdrawal Form to the Centre.
  2. b. Withdrawal Application must be made with a minimum notice of four remaining lessons in advance.
  3. c. Students who have withdrawn and subsequently re-enrol in any of our Centres will be treated as a new enrolment.

6) CENTRE CLOSURES/CANCELLATION OF LESSONS
  1. a. Course Fees will not be refunded if Centre Closure is due to directives as stated in clause 7(a), contagious diseases such as SARS/HFMD or for reasons beyond the control of the Centre including but not limited to haze or blackouts not due to Centre’s fault.
  2. b. The Centre reserves the right to decide if Replacement Lessons will be conducted in the event of such Centre Closures.
  3. c. The Centre reserves the right to decide if Replacement Lessons will be conducted in the event of such Cancellation of Lessons.

7) CLASS SCHEDULES AND TEACHERS
  1. a. The Centre reserves the right to transfer, combine or dissolve a class. In the event that the class is reduced to one student, the Centre reserves the right to reduce the duration of the class.
  2. b. There will be no classes during Gazetted Public Holidays and published Centre Closure and Centre Holiday days.
  3. c. The Centre reserves the right to change the teacher at short notice when the circumstances warrant the change.

8) INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND MEDIA DISCLOSURE
  1. a. Unless otherwise stated, ICR Limited owns the Intellectual Property and/or Licensing Rights of all materials in various formats distributed or used during the conduct of our programmes, workshops and seminars, and all recipients of these materials are prohibited from copying, reproducing, modifying, distributing, performing or transmitting in any forms or by any means whatsoever of these materials without prior written consent from ICR Limited.
  2. b. The Centre may record and/or photograph the activities carried out during lesson time. Parent/Guardian understands that the rights to the work produced, video clips and photographs in which the Student might be featured belong to the Centre and consent for these information to be used for the purposes of academic, training and promotion as deemed appropriate by the Centre.

10) OTHERS
  1. a. While the Centre will take reasonable actions and precautions to ensure the safety of the Student, the Centre assumes no liability for personal injury, loss or damages to property or any loss or damage of any kind whatsoever which might be sustained by the student or any person(s) accompanying the Student in undertaking any activity or anything whether under the Centre’s direction or otherwise, and generally for any such injury, loss or damage howsoever caused except by the wilful default of the Centre, its servants and agents.
  2. b. Parent/Guardian hereby releases the Centre, its servants and agents from all liabilities for such injury, loss or damage of any kind whatsoever which might be sustained by the Student or any person(s) accompanying the Student in undertaking any activity or anything whether under the Centre’s direction or otherwise, and generally for any such injury, loss or damage howsoever caused except by the wilful default of the Centre, its servants and agents.
  3. c. The Centre shall not be liable for any default due to any act of God, war, industrial action, strike, fire, flood, drought, lockout, tempest or other event beyond the reasonable control of the Centre.
  4. d. Parent/Guardian hereby consents to the use of personal data collected in accordance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance.
